KNOWLEDGE TRANSFER
A successful training program or application development launch is only the beginning. Supporting the application through enhancements and maintenance can be just as challenging. TechSherpas offers its clients a proven methodology for rapidly transferring knowledge and information technology responsibilities from internal, external, and third-party subject matter experts.
Knowledge Transfer Process
The process consists of several phases— Assess, Define, Educate, Implement, Measure, and Optimize. Each phase is comprised of interrelated activities that focused on the processes to be followed, the people involved, the technology used, and the overall culture of the clients’ environments.
ASSESS
The knowledge transfer begins with the Assess Phase; the development of an all-inclusive knowledge transfer plan. This involves:
- Evaluating processes, personnel, technology and culture
- Identifying best-fit tools and methodologies
- Defining infrastructure requirements, constraints, and business processes that the transition would impact.
DEFINE
Next, in the Define Phase, TechSherpas establishes knowledge transfer objectives, scope, and success measurement criteria. Additionally, transition team members are assigned roles and responsibilities as well as on-site, off-site, and offshore work locations.
EDUCATE
The Educate Phase involves understanding the application environment through the collection and review of application and business knowledge and delivering a series of educational sessions to compliment the application environment. TechSherpas develops communication strategies, secures baseline service level information, creates management, customer assistance, and quality assurance business processes and procedures, and establishes a Implement Phase schedule.
IMPLEMENT
In the Implement Phase, TechSherpas works with your team monitors application cycles and captures initial metrics, which are reported to the client. To prevent service disruptions, TechSherpas identifies all critical application components and assessed their maturity.
MEASURE
The progress of the knowledge transfer plan is tracked in the Measure Phase. The customer gradually transitions work to TechSherpas enabling establishment of application management infrastructures, acclimation to service requirements, and refinement of processes and application improvements. The transition facilitates other business improvement opportunities; and the ability to deploy resources globally
OPTIMIZE
In the Optimize Phase of the project, TechSherpas makes enhancements to improve application performance and streamline operations that will reduce costs and efforts.
