Citrix

Citrix MetaFrame Presentation Server is a technology that can allow remote users to connect to applications that are actually installed on a remote computer. It uses a mix of technology that results in that remote application looking and behaving just as though it was installed on the local machine.

For example, if an application needs to be made available to a group of users who are off campus, the application can be installed on a Citrix server and access will be given to the users who need to use it. Those users can then go to a certain web address, log in with their UniKey credentials and click on an icon on that page for that application. It will then appear as though the remote application will start and run on their remote computer, when the application is actually being executed on the Citrix server and screenshots and mouse/keyboard inputs are being sent back and forth between server and client. They would be "remote controlling" the application running on the server from their computer so the application need not be installed on the local machine. The remote application can be minimized/maximized/resized just like any other local application. Using drive mapping, files can be also be opened on and saved to the local computer that the user connected from.

TechSherpas offers some of the most comprehensive Citrix training available today. We provide hands-on, instructor-led Citrix classes at several of our delivery locations. Citrix Certification

• Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA). The CCA certification program focuses on the skills and knowledge foundation necessary to successfully support an existing implementation of specific Citrix products. System administrators, Citrix resellers and business affiliates, and independent consultants will find that the CCA certification is an excellent credential.

• Citrix Certified Enterprise Administrator (CCEA). The CCEA certification program focuses on expanding the skills and knowledge beyond that of the Citrix Certified Administrator (CCA) certification program. The CCEA certification provides a candidate with the tools and knowledge needed to administer, build, test, rollout and support of multiple Citrix products.

Citrix Access Suite 4.0: Build/Test Workshop

Overview
This workshop-style course provides learners with valuable experience building and testing designs for Citrix Access Suite 4.0. Over 80% of the class is conducted through hands-on exercises.

Learners build and configure an environment comprised of Citrix Presentation Server 4.0, Citrix Password Manager 4.1 and Citrix Access Gateway Advanced Edition 4.2 to meet the needs of a fictitious company. After configuring each product, learners test their configurations to ensure correctness. This course culminates in a final test of the entire environment, in which learners log in to their Presentation Server farm through Access Gateway with Advanced Access Control and launch published applications for which the Password Manager agent provides passwords. Learners conduct the test with different user accounts to ensure the various policies are configured correctly.
